Loads of Excellent Breakfast at Hotel Sreemaya: Our hotel was located at a walking distance from Hotel Sreemaya. Because of its glowing buffet reviews on various sites we decided to try it out. Due to time constraint, we couldn’t go for lunch or dinner. But since we couldn’t rule it out completely we went in for a breakfast buffet. It was one of the best buffet breakfast we ever had in India.
Lavish Spread: The spread was lavish with 3 -4 kinds of fruits, different breads, cornflakes, Indori Pohe, Idli Wada Sambar, Potato Wada, Puri Chhole, boiled vegetable etc. There were a few desserts fruit and chocolate cakes, pastries, Souffle and Moong dal halwa. There were a few made to order items such as Egg preparations and Dosa/ Uttappam etc. Juices and excellent tea, coffee for you to finish off the buffet. It was not just about the lavish spread.
Excellent Service: The buffet table arrangement, the attentive restaurant staff tends to make you overeat. The table clothes were so spotlessly clean that will make you feel guilty in case you spill something. To sum up the experience, it was a breakfast fit for a king. We did not stay at the hotel so we were charged Rs. 350 per head for breakfast.
Namkeens of Indore: How can the trip to Indore be over without a visit to the Namkeen store? We brought of it back home. The special being the Khatta Meetha mixture! And not to forget Jeeravan masala that you can sprinkle on while preparing Indori Pohas. The variety of Namkeens available in Indore is enormous. Have you heard of Santra( Orange) Sev ? Well is just one of many sev varieties. Enough to say that even if you taste all available samples before making a buying decision, your stomach will be already full. And all variants are equally tasty.
Nafees Restaurant: Till now everything was about vegetarian food. Now how about a treat for the non-vegetarian ones? We received a lot of recommendation to try Nafees Restaurant. Apparently they are famous for their scrumptious Biryani.
But once we went through their menu we couldn’t resist trying out some other dishes as well. So we ordered Murgh Lababdar and Palak Paneer with some rotis. Murgh Lababdar was awesome. It had this melt in mouth texture. The chicken cooked to perfection. Not spicy, and the right spices. Then the Palak Paneer had a nice taste that had suppressed the light bitter tinge that any leafy vegetable invariably has. And the plus point, it was non greasy!
Now to the masterpiece i.e. the Biryani. The Biryanis I had till date were often dry. But this wasn’t, thus it didn’t leave us reaching for the curd or something wet. Since it’s a full fledge restaurant it might be bit on the costlier side as compared to street food. To round it up, Nafees Restaurant is a must visit for the non-vegetarian lovers.
Well foodies, I sign off here. If you find the review riveting do share it. Have some other recommendations that you feel we should try out or want to share with us? Leave a comment in the section below! Till then happy eating.
